A gorgeously-illustrated childrens book of one of the best-loved and familiar of wildlife species, Leslie Albrittons Sally OMallys Incredible Day is also a true story and cautionary tale that teaches children to be wary of predators or what to do in case they come in contact with predators.

Sally OMally and husband Mr. OMally live with their eight wonderful ducklings behind a blind on a sunny lake shore, the ideal home for ducks. Theyve taught their five girls and three boys to hunt for food and avoid the dangers of the wild. The dramatic spike comes when an osprey a modern day raptor wheels out in the sky from seemingly nowhere and finds Sally and her children as they are doing their daily lessons. Signaling for danger, she tries to gather up her brood before the osprey can catch any of them at the end of his power dive.

The illustrations are palpitatingly intense and are sure to imprint how dangerous the experience is on young minds. Fortunately, the OMallys had taught their children well, and they do all the things theyve been taught to avoid a predator to dive in and stay under water and to run for the nearest shelter. After the attack, all eight are accounted for: luck and training save the day.

It is of interest for readers to note that there are people on shore in the books illustrations. These are the author and her party they saw the actual osprey attack on a family of ducks who were playing on a stretch of open water. It was an incredible experience for them, an affecting natural drama that inspired Leslie Albritton to come up with this beautiful book and safety manual for the young.

Leslie Albritton is a wife of twenty-eight years, mother of three, and grandmother of four. She has lived in Wauchula, Florida, since 1977, when her parents moved there to minister at a small Assembly of God church, on Eighth Avenue. She has held several jobs and is currently working as a deputy clerk for the Hardee County Clerk of Courts. Her dream, since being a small girl, was to be a wife and mother. She has dedicated her life to her marriage to Ralton Albritton Jr. and to raising her children. In her opinion, there is no higher calling or greater benefit to society than to have a successful marriage and raise children that honor their parents and are respectful of God and country. Whereas years ago, couples had to prove the their spouse was “unfit” or did something wrong, with a no-fault divorce couples can obtain a divorce by merely stating they no longer wish to be married. Regardless of the reason a couple chooses to get a divorce, it’s in their best interest to find a good divorce lawyer.

Australia has very clear and relatively easy-to-satisfy divorce laws. The only requirements are that you be domiciled in Australia, be an Australian citizen or an Australian resident for at least 12 months. If you meet these requirements, and have been separated from your spouse for at least 12 months, you can file for a divorce in Australia.

In certain cases, the spouses are not required to attend their court hearing. One of these situations is if there are no children under the age of 18. How many arbitrations have they been involved in? If they are a court-appointed arbitrator, as is customary in Australia divorce cases, they’ve probably been in arbitrations before. If you suspect your divorce is going to become a nasty fight for custody, you want a divorce lawyer that’s experienced and successful in child custody cases. 7. The crime dramas that air on television have influenced courtrooms by generating forensic evidence demands. Introduction to Criminal Justice may or may not be required as part of a criminal justice degree program. At Ohio-based Tiffin University, students do have to take the the Introduction to Criminal Justice course in order to obtain bachelor’s degrees, which the institution offers in areas such as forensic science, corrections, law enforcement, homeland security and terrorism, forensic psychology, and cyber-defense and information security. Tiffin University’s criminal justice students must also fulfill internships as part of their degree programs. Introduction to Criminal Justice is also required in instances where students work toward bachelor’s degrees in criminal/social justice at Lewis University, which offers a minor in criminal/social justice as well.

Some criminal justice degrees at the bachelor’s level are Bachelor of Arts degrees, while others are Bachelor of Science degrees. The difference typically involves the number of courses that students must take that are related to their major. Where Bachelor of Arts degrees often are provided in the humanities, Bachelor of Science degrees that require more of the courses related to majors are typically provided in subjects such as the sciences, engineering or agriculture. Students working toward a justice studies bachelor of arts degree at Kent State University are provided a foundation in social science and the humanities where they might become sensitive to diverse values of views, the institution’s web site suggests.

A portion of the Kent State University campus has made the US Department of the Interior’s National Register of Historic Places for justice-related events that happened in 1970. The institution in May 2010 marked the 40th anniversary of what became known as the Kent State “Massacre,” where anti-war protests led National Guardsmen to fatally shoot four students and injure nine others. Sarah Haselop, associate attorney at the San Francisco family law firm Heath-Newton LLP, was honored by the UC Hastings Center for Gender and Refugee Studies (CGRS) on Wednesday, April 10 for her pro bono work on the San Francisco Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights (LCCR) asylum program.

For four years, Haselop has provided pro bono legal representation to individuals seeking refuge in the United States. She has provided direct representation in many cases involving gender-based violence against women in their country of origin.

The United States is, and always has been, a safe harbor for individuals who have found the strength and courage to leave everything behind their home countries to find a new and better life for themselves, says Haselop. It is my deep honor to help these brave people.

In addition to her counsel, Haselop has helped mentor fellow attorneys and conducted intake interviews for the LCCR. Due to the nature of her clients claims, Sarah has worked with the CGRS at UC Hastings College of Law, which has been instrumental in providing the resources to create legal argument and identify case precedents in asylum law.

According to the CGRS, thousands of migrants flee the violence and persecution of their native countries and seek refuge in the United States every year. Many of them cant read or write in English and come from countries that do not guarantee the right to due process.

Because of this, these victims are rendered virtually helpless when it comes to understanding the complex U.S. immigration and asylum laws and are unable to obtain sound legal advice. It is up to pro bono attorneys, organized and supported by groups such as the LCCR and the CGRS, to fill this gap.
